Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf's passion for duck hunting started on the Chesapeake and upper Potomac River, where he grew up hunting with his family. By high school, he'd already devoured authors such as Robert Ruark, Aldo Leopold, Reiger, and Nash Buckingham — further fueling his interest in waterfowl conservation. 

When Wolf went to Harvard, he undertook an independent study, Waterfowl and Waterfowl Conservation, while his undergraduate honors thesis explored the economic implications of expanding the federal duck stamp program to include fishermen to increase revenue for wetland conservation, which was awarded a Summa designation. 

Wolf has spent his career in insurance but hunting and fishing were never far off — his first business purchase, at 25, was a fly fishing and gun shop. He and his wife Mary later moved their three kids to southwest Montana to raise them amid the Yellowstone River ecosystem's fantastic hunting and fishing opportunities.

Today, he’s CEO of Wister Insurance, an insurance provider built exclusively for short-term rental property managers. He is a partner in Burchell Wolf Safaris in Namibia with his daughter Katelyn and son-in-law, Scott Burchell. He is also part owner of an insurance brokerage along with his daughter Jacqueline, who is COO. He continues to spend time hunting with family, including his son, Robert, while he and Mary travel the globe.
