William Bettman
Bettman joined Delta’s Board of Directors in July. He grew up in Michigan, where he developed a passion for the outdoors and conservation.
Now, Bettman pursues his outdoor passions primarily in Michigan, Montana, and Manitoba, where he can be found in the field or marsh. He is a strong believer in conservation with an emphasis on clean water for better habitat.
Bettman owns a lodge on the historic Delta Marsh in Manitoba, where much of Delta Waterfowl’s research has been conducted over the years. During his tenure on the Board, Bettman intends to work on conservation initiatives and enhancing duck production.
Professionally, Bettman is an attorney at Vedder in Chicago, where he advises business owners and private equity firms on mergers and acquisitions, investments and other strategic transactions. He also advises senior executives and management teams on executive compensation matters. He is particularly known for guiding private and family-owned businesses with respect to selling their companies or acquiring other companies. During his 30-plus-year career, Bettman has handled more than 300 merger and acquisition transactions.
