Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp $8.50

2026 Canadian Duck Stamp Features Shovelers

Money from stamp sales and related products pays for waterfowl conservation projects

A striking pair of northern shovelers in breeding plumage painted by Winnipeg artist Joseph Koensgen will adorn the 2026 Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp.

A self-taught artist, Koensgen is inspired by the natural world around him. His detailed scenes capture the quiet beauty of nature and reflect a deep appreciation for wildlife and conservation.

All waterfowlers in Canada are required to purchase the $8.50 stamp to validate their migratory bird hunting permits. Since the program’s inception in 1985, stamp and print sales have generated over $64 million. The funds are administered by Wildlife Habitat Canada and have been invested to support more than 1,600 conservation projects throughout Canada.

Recent WHC grants have supported Delta Waterfowl’s conservation work. For 2025-2026, Delta was awarded funding for the installation of Hen Houses in Canada, as well as to support Delta’s hunter recruitment efforts through the University Hunting Program and First Hunt Program.
